How to Assign Your Account as NemKonto
the following content is intented for businesses incorporated in Denmark
What is NemKonto?
NemKonto is a personal or business bank account assigned to receive payments from public authorities in Denmark. It is mandatory for a company operating in Denmark to assign one of its accounts as NemKonto.
For businesses, the NemKonto is often used to:
- Receive VAT refunds
- Get payments from public institutions
- Be compliant with Danish legal requirements
Connect your Zento account to NemKonto
It is relatively simple to register a NemKonto, but the processing time at NemKonto may take several weeks.
To avoid unnecessary delays, we recommend that you carefully follow the steps below.
To register a NemKonto, an EU account is required. Therefore, Zento assigns its customers a Maltese (MT) IBAN, which can be registered as a NemKonto via NemKonto’s website.
Important:
The registration must be completed in EUR currency, and the dedicated IBAN number must be used.
This is a temporary solution. During March/April, a much simpler solution will be introduced.
How to order your EU IBAN
Send an email to info@zento.app to request your NemKonto IBAN.
The email must be sent from the address registered on your Zento account.
Within 5 business days, you will receive an email with your new vIBAN (alias account), which must only be used for registration with NemKonto.
It is fully legal to register a foreign account as a NemKonto, and the process works the same way as when registering a Danish account.
